Acasia Wellburn pled guilty to three counts of sexual behavior with a child by someone in a position in a position of trust.
According to the police, a school staff was jailed for sexually abusing a boy with autism who was less than sixteen years old.
Acasia Welburn, 26, had been employed at a school in North Yorkshire in a “trusted care position” when she abused the child.
Welburn started sending the child explicit messages and pictures on social media after getting in touch with him on social media. After that, she started having regular sex dates with the teenager in her apartment and car, which North Yorkshire Police called “a shocking string of abuse.”
Welburn, a Telford, Shropshire resident, pleaded guilty to 3 charges of engaging in sexual activity with a minor while in a position of trust. She was given a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence on Friday at York Crown Court.
DC Alison Morris of North Yorkshire police stated, “I cannot commend the victims enough for their incredible courage and determination.
“This is another case that demonstrates that victims can seek and receive justice.
“We would encourage anyone who has been affected by any offending to contact the police. You will be supported and listened to.”
