There is no indication that foul play was involved in the death of Austin Retterath, according to the officials in the state of Minnesota who discovered his body.
Twelve days after Austin Retterath was reported missing, his body was discovered in the Mississippi River on Friday. Retterath was an honors student at the University of Minnesota.
On Friday, the University of Minnesota Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension both announced on Facebook that the missing person alert that had been issued for Retterath, who is 19 years old, had been revoked. The body of the same missing honors engineering student was discovered in the Mississippi River on Wednesday, according to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office. This discovery took place two days earlier.
The agencies who looked into the matter found no evidence that any illegal activity had taken place.
Retterath was last seen alive on May 8 in Minneapolis, close to the intersection of East River Road and Franklin Avenue. He is said to stand approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, weigh approximately 160 pounds, and have blonde hair.
