In order to celebrate the anniversary of its founding, North Korea staged a military parade that included tractors and dump trucks.

Celebrations of the 75th anniversary were jointly attended by delegates from China and Russia.

The march brought attention to the preparation of the country for war as well as the significance of its militia.

According to the Associated Press, early Saturday morning in the capital city of North Korea, the government performed a military parade in commemoration of the country’s founding. The procession included tractors carrying missile launchers.

Celebrations were held in Pyongyang to mark the nation’s creation by Kim Il Sung, who is the grandfather of Kim Jong Un, the current leader of North Korea. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the nation’s founding.

In order to demonstrate that the government of North Korea is capable of fending off an invasion, the military parade included a strong emphasis on the “militia” components of the North Korean armed forces.

The day before the parade, North Korea revealed what it dubbed its first “tactical nuclear attack submarine.” If the vessel is genuine, it would strengthen the hermit kingdom’s ability to threaten nuclear war against opponents located a great distance away. According to the opinions of several experts, it demonstrates Kim’s commitment to boosting North Korea’s nuclear program.

On Saturday, there was a marked decline in the impressiveness of the armament that was on exhibit. Images of what seem to be rows of tractors towing missile launchers have been published by the official media of North Korea.

In order to underscore “the militia’s role as guerilla fighters in a war,” the organizers of the parade added red dump trucks that had been modified to hide missile launchers. These vehicles were driven through the crowd.

No nuclear-capable weapons or intercontinental ballistic missiles seemed to be on display, in contrast to a parade held in July to commemorate North Korea’s “victory” in the battle that established the division of the peninsula in 1950-53.

North Korea again demonstrated its paramilitary might in 2021, on the occasion of its anniversary. According to The Korea Herald, the Worker-Peasant Red Guards are estimated to have more than 5 million members. This information comes from the government of South Korea. This is in contrast to the estimated 1.3 million men that are part of the North Korean army.
