A Thai man survived for over a month drinking only beer, but the consequences that followed are heartbreaking.
Thaweesak Namwongsa, 44, died after surviving on beer alone for over a month in the Ban Chang district of Rayong, Thailand.
Namwong experienced a deep emotional crisis after a recent divorce and refused to eat any solid food or even drink water, relying solely on beer.
According to his teenage son, his father has been drinking only beer for the past month. Despite efforts by his 16-year-old son to cook meals for him, Namwongsa refused to eat.
The teenager said he came back from school and found his father unconscious after a seizure in his bed. He added his was surrounded by more than 100 empty beer bottles neatly arranged on the bedroom floor, with only a narrow path cleared for movement.

Rescue workers from the Siam Rayong Foundation to help Thaweesak Namwong. When they arrived, the empty beer bottles were neatly arranged on the bedroom floor.
Namwong’s son couldn’t tell whether his father had any underlying health condition. It is suspected that his emotional strain has compelled him to replace food with beer.
Health experts note that while beer contains calories, it lacks essential nutrients and can cause serious health issues when used as a meal replacement.
