A man being booked into an Arkansas jail shot and killed a guard.

An event that occurred in an Arkansas prison resulted in the death of a prison guard who was shot.

On Thursday, a guy who was being booked into the jail in central Arkansas opened fire, killing a correctional officer who was working there. The incident occurred as the suspect was being processed.

No identities or other details were immediately made public after the shooting that took place on Wednesday evening at the Perry County Jail in Perryville, which is located around 35 miles northwest of Little Rock. Perryville is in Perry County.

According to a press statement that was published by the Arkansas State Police, a male who was 37 years old at the time of the shooting event was in the process of being booked into the county prison after having been apprehended by officers from Perry County.
