Pediatrician Dr. Stephanie Russell, who practices in Louisville, Kentucky, was detained on suspicion of commissioning the assassination of her ex-husband by a hitman.
A pediatrician from the state of Kentucky has been taken into custody on federal accusations related to an alleged contract killing.
According to the documents filed with the court, the Kentucky woman, who is 52 years old, allegedly paid someone to kill her ex-husband on May 15. An undercover FBI employee is said to have agreed to pay a children’s doctor $7,000 to kill her ex-husband, according to the allegations.

On the 18th of May, Russell allegedly placed $3,500 in a drop box located outside of her medical business, as stated in a federal criminal complaint and an arrest warrant that was both unsealed on Thursday. It is said that she guaranteed that she would pay the remaining portion of the damages if the victim passed away. On May 19th, Russell was taken into custody by agents from the FBI.

On Friday, Russell made his initial appearance before the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. The hearing was presided over by a United States Magistrate Judge. She is scheduled to make an appearance at the United States Gene Snyder Courthouse on Tuesday, May 24, at eleven in the morning for preliminary and detention hearings.
