Alaska Airlines Flight 334 went from Atlanta to Seattle when the’ direct threat’ was made.
Multiple sources say that the Spokane International Airport in Washington stopped all flights after a customer on a trip from Atlanta to Seattle said there was a bomb on the plane.
Alaska Airlines told Fox News Digital that the flight was sent to Spokane “as a precaution” after a male passenger made a “direct threat” on Alaska Airlines Flight 334. Officials said that a ground stop was then given at the airport.
“This afternoon, there was a problem with security on Alaska Airlines Flight 334 from Atlanta to Seattle. Alaska Airlines said in a statement that a male passenger directly threatened the plane’s safety to one of the flight attendants. “According to security procedures, local and federal police were notified immediately and met the plane when it arrived.”
Spokane Airport spokesman Todd Woodard told KREM 2 that Airport Police have one person in custody, and other customers who saw someone being led away in handcuffs confirmed the arrest.
Alaska Airlines said that the flight, which had 177 customers and six crew members, arrived safely in Spokane at 5:15 p.m. PDT. They were all taken out of there safely.
“We’re grateful for their understanding and patience during this. We’re trying to get them to Seattle, where they were supposed to go, as soon as possible. “We are thankful that our flight attendants and pilots handled this situation with professionalism and care,” the company told Fox News Digital.
Fox News Digital tried to contact the Spokane International Airport but did not hear back immediately.
The Spokane police, the Spokane County Bomb Squad, and the FBI dealt with the danger.
KXLY4 said four planes were leaving late, and four were late getting there.
Spokane Airport said that flights had started again as of 6:45 p.m.
