The Indiana State Police have issued a statement stating that an 11-year-old boy died as a result of injuries sustained in an accident involving fireworks on Sunday night.

An 11-year-old kid named Camryn Ray McMichael was alleged to have suffered “serious injuries” as a consequence of a fireworks incident that occurred in a Mount Vernon neighborhood over the Fourth of July weekend, according to a statement released by the Indiana State Police over the holiday weekend.

Mt. Vernon, Indiana, police officers reacted to the incident and transferred McMichael to a nearby hospital. He died while being transported to the hospital.

The investigation is currently being handled by the Indiana State Police, according to the Mt. Vernon police department, which verified this information to the media. An autopsy is set for Tuesday, according to the information given by the Posey County Coroner’s Office.
