According to statements made by Charleston’s mayor, John Tecklenburg, the incident in the city’s center was the 230th mass shooting to take place in the United States.
According to the authorities, a shooting rampage that took place at a party in Charleston, South Carolina, on Monday night left 10 people injured, one of them was a 17-year-old girl.
According to Police Chief Luther Reynolds, who was quoted by authorities a Carolina, officers who responded to a noise complaint were confronted with gunfire when they got on the site.
According to Reynolds, “the cop was immediately hit by gunfire,” and two bullets struck the cruiser that the officer was driving.

The cruiser had many bullet holes, but the police chose to remain seated inside the vehicle throughout the whole incident. According to the police, there were at least two passengers inside the vehicle, and one of them managed to get itself wedged under the headrest.
