Following the shooting that took place in Uvalde, Texas, the sheriff of Lee County, Florida issued the following statement: “Now is not the time to act like a little delinquent.”
A child of 10 years old who was in the fifth grade in Florida was taken into custody and charged with making a written threat to carry out a mass shooting on Saturday, according to the local police.
According to the police, the School Threat Enforcement Team in Cape Coral, Florida, was immediately notified after the alleged threat was reported by a student at Patriot Elementary School. The crew wasted no time in starting their inquiry.

Because of the child’s young age, the investigation was given to the Youth Services Criminal Investigations Division to handle. After conducting their investigation, the police found reasonable grounds to justify the child’s arrest.
In light of the recent tragedy that occurred in Uvalde, Texas, the behavior of the pupil was termed “sickening” by Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno. “We place a high premium on ensuring that our children are protected from harm. The rule of law is going to be implemented in our educational institutions! My team did not waste even one second—I repeat, NOT ONE SECOND—in waiting before beginning to investigate this potential danger.”
