In the city of Tallahassee, Florida’s J.R. Alford Greenway Trail, there was an incident that took place.
A family from Florida lost their dog after an unfortunate incident that occurred during a trip to the park.
Officials with the Department of Wildlife said that Joshua Wells and his dog, Toby, a 40-pound black Labrador retriever, were eaten by an alligator as they were on a stroll and playing a quick game of fetch in a park in their neighborhood earlier this month.
Wells and Toby were doing their typical outdoor activities at the J.R. Alford Greenway Trail in Tallahassee, which is a famous park, when an alligator, which was just over 9 feet long, rushed out of a nearby stream and grabbed Toby by the head and carried it back into the water. The alligator was just over 9 feet long.
According to Wells, the occurrence took place so suddenly that the dog had very little time to respond to what had happened.
