Most people need to realize how essential garage floors are. Redesigning your garage flooring is just as important as planning your overall home. Besides, the garage may not just be room for vehicles; it can be an extra room you can showcase.

Choosing something beautiful and strong that can stand up to any weather and won’t stain is best. If you need help with that, this article gives you four flooring options for your garage or home floor.

Choose your Flooring!

1.  3D/Metallic Epoxy Flooring

3D epoxy flooring will give the same level of protection as traditional epoxy coatings. The main difference is that you can put unique imagery on your garage floor. With the help of a garage floor epoxy Los Angeles professional designer and installer, you can put almost anything on your flooring.

People often add the following 3D images to their garage floors:

  • Sparkling bodies of water
  • Clover grass
  • Logos of your favorite car or motorcycle companies
  • Sports team mascots and logos

You can choose a simple and traditional design, though. Make your garage more appealing by:

  • Mosaics of different colors
  • Checkerboard pattern
  • Marble, slate, and other natural stones

2.    Polished Exposed Aggregate Concrete

Polished exposed aggregate concrete is the affordable and durable version of Terrazzo. Even though it is polished, it is not slippery and doesn’t age quickly. Because concrete is already so strong, the exposed aggregate mixture can last for years.

Moreover, exposed aggregate has stones and oxides in different colors, shapes, and sizes; that’s why it can be made into many different designs. Mixes of polished exposed aggregate come in many colors, including white, green, gold, tan, black, gray, mid-brown, etc.

Some popular polished exposed aggregate options include:

  • Gravels
  • Basalt
  • Quartzite
  • Crushed Glass
  • Gravel
  • Crushed Stone
  • Decorative Stone

Of course, you should seal this with concrete sealers and always be ready to clean it up. Don’t worry! This type of flooring doesn’t need daily waxing.

3.  Multi-Color Stained Concrete

Staining is the most traditional way to add oomph to your concrete. Even though it’s slightly not as durable as the other options in this list, it still gives you a pass for creativity. For simple designs, it can replicate the looks of:

  • Wood
  • Marble
  • Granite

While you can also be more classy with the use of :

  • Abstract Picasso or Glass-Stained Effect
  • Art Nouveau Style

4.    Solid Color or Nothing With Polyurea Polyaspartic

Polyurea Polyaspartic, unlike the other options, won’t peel, crack, or blister. You also have many color options, so you can easily make them fit your design plan. It can even be transparent if you want to keep the color of your concrete the same.

It is also easy to clean and good for the environment because it is waterproof, doesn’t slip, scratch, or stain, and has low volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

For solid colors, you can choose neutral colors because they will be easier to clean and maintain and give you more decorating options. Examples of this are:

  • Tan
  • Beige
  • Khaki
  • Moss
  • Limestone
  • Grey

While bold or deep colors can help the garage feel warm, lively, or peaceful. Examples of this are:

  • Shades of Blue (e.g., Viridis, Basil, Ferripidote)
  • Shades of Green (e.g., Blue-Black, Royal Blue)
  • Shades of Red (e.g., Brick Red, Terra Cotta, Fine Wine)

The Last Layer Of Your Design

Are you now ready to revamp your garage floor? With the above ideas, you can acquire the best of both worlds: an aesthetically pleasing design and a resilient structure.

Two mentioned design ideas still need coating (polished and stained concrete). At the same time, the other two are the coatings that can offer themselves in color. You have the freedom to choose which is best for you.
