The Arkansas Police Department has reported that a newborn baby girl has passed away as a result of injuries she sustained from the family dog.
According to KFTA, Lieutenant Keith Lawson of the Cave Springs Police Department stated that a 4-day-old baby girl was sent to the Children’s Hospital in Springdale as a result of an incident that took place at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday.
The youngster was subsequently transported by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, where it was reported that medical staff pronounced the child dead upon arrival.
“It was decided that the fatal injuries that were inflicted on the child were inflicted on the child by the family dog,” Lawson said. “Based on the statements of witnesses and the judgments of medical specialists, it was determined that the fatal injuries were inflicted on the child.”
