Every year, lots of hotly anticipated games get released in the run-up to Christmas. 2023 is no different, with some premium, big-name games coming out before the year draws to a close. Here are 10 brand-new games coming this winter – which will you play first?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Call of Duty is one of the world’s biggest video game franchises. Modern Warfare 3 is the twentieth instalment in the series and is the third reboot, following on from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which came out in 2022.

Nintendo’s Mario, one of the world’s most popular video game characters, returns in Super Mario RGP: Legend of the Seven Stars. It’s a remake of the game of the same name that was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1996.
WarioWare: Move It!
The eleventh instalment in the WarioWare series, Move It! is a party game that comes with more than 200 microgames that are fun, fast-paced and thrilling. Gameplay involves players moving their Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers in certain ways to complete the microgames.
Batman: Arkham Trilogy
A Nintendo Switch exclusive, Batman: Arkham Trilogy is a compilation of three Batman games: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Knight. All DLC released for the three games is included.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Based on the hugely successful film series, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an ambitious open-world game that lets you explore Pandora. It’s set in a never-before-seen part of the moon and tells a standalone story, though it still has references to the films.
Teardown
As its name suggests, a lot of Teardown’s gameplay revolves around tearing things down and destroying them. While the game is already available on computers, ports for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are coming out this winter.
Finn and the Candy Spin
