Emergency personnel and first responders are at the scene of a small plane crash in Plano, Texas.
Authorities have confirmed that the plane’s pilot perished in the fiery collision.
The FAA reports that at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the Mooney M20 single-engine crashed close to Nail Addiction and Mama’s Daughter’s Diner.
According to officials, the pilot was the only person on board the aircraft. Aerial video from the scene reveals that the collision caused damage to a nearby van.
The crash site is located less than 0.5 miles from the Air Park-Dallas Airport. As of right now, the pilot’s name is still unknown.
Officials say that the NTSB and the FAA will investigate the cause of the crash and should be at the scene by Wednesday morning. Remarks from the Plano Police Department could not be obtained right away.
